Hero is one of the most beautiful and interesting
movies to come around in a long time. It flows with amazing tranquility and the
art house feel is something of mere amazement considering it’s a Kung Fu movie.
The story is rail thin and we get a variation of themes that follow the meaning of being a heroic figure. The film shoots ancient China in a splendid manner using many dark contrasting architecturally
pleasing set pieces and also showing the true beauty of China’s
natural resources. Our story does have a hero and here is where the tail begins.....

If you want a smart movie with a solid script and great direction look at any movie in
theaters right now, because even a stinker like “The Princess Diaries 2” will seem like an artistic achievement
compared to this one. This movie has characters, but you don’t care- This
movie has a some what coherent plot, but you don’t care. What this movie
has is two kick ass Aliens battling it out- “Celebrity Boxing” style.

Watching Jennifer Garner treated in such a bad plot is disappointing, but Garner shines
in ways that trump the bland writing and so-so directing. 13 going on 30 is like
eating puffy sweet cotton candy. It sure is tasty, but leaves nothing in your
stomach. I say this because the plot for 13 going on 30 is so simple that the
movie could have only have been 30 minutes long and said everything it does.....
